Anna Handorf, MD

Director of TinyTalks

Anna is the Director of TinyTalks and Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Education, Innovation and Research Center at Mass General for Children. Additionally, she is one of the Associate Program Directors for the MGH Pediatrics Residency Program. She works clinically as a pediatric hospital medicine physician at Newton Wellesley Hospital. She completed her pediatric residency at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children and a fellowship in medical simulation and medical education in the Massachusetts General Hospital Learning Laboratory. Anna is interested in leveraging technology to augment medical education by providing high-yield resources that can be used flexibly. She believes that strengthening the educational experiences of trainees and faculty, alike, can help them to navigate complexities of medical education training.

Ariel Frey-Vogel, MD, MAT

Ariel is a med-peds attending at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and a faculty member at Harvard Medical School. She completed medical school at Yale University School of Medicine and her residency in combined internal medicine and pediatrics at MGH. She is the Director of the Pediatric Education, Innovation, and Research Center at the Mass General for Children (MGfC) and in that role she conducts medical education research and mentors and supports faculty and trainees in doing the same. Her research interests include curriculum design and assessment, the role of residents as educators, and the use of simulation in medical education. She works clinically as the Director of Child and Adolescent Services at the MGH Transgender Health Program. She lives in a suburb of Boston with her husband and two little ones.

Michael Healy, EdD

Mike is a Health Professions Education Researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Instructor in Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He has experience in qualitative and quantitative research, with diverse research interests in health professions education including the development, impact, and utilization of educational technology; educational leadership; and professional development.

Iman Moawad, PharmD

Iman Moawad is the clinical coordinator for the pediatric pharmacy team at MGHfC. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh and completed a pharmacy practice residency at MGH. Iman is passionate about medication safety and quality improvement, particularly with the challenges of having a pediatric hospital within an adult hospital. She has worked extensively with the Epic team to standardize and make medication ordering safer for the pediatric residents.

Weizhen Tan, MD

Weizhen “Wei” is a pediatric nephrology attending at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children and faculty member at Harvard Medical School. Originally from Massachusetts, he completed his residency in pediatrics at Yale New Haven Hospital and nephrology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. He enjoys teaching residents and medical students and all things nephrology. He has an interest in alternative educational methods such as podcasts, online self-directed learning, and champions unique renal education in the form of NephJC or NephMadness. When not busy on the clinical service or in academic medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 kids in a suburb of Boston.

Kimberly Whalen, R.N., M.S., CCRN

Kimberly "Kim" is the Nursing Director in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital where she has 27 years’ experience as a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse and as the PICU Nursing Practice Specialist. Kim received her master’s in nursing informatics. She worked with the Partners Informatics team and published research on the transition for pediatrics and nursing clinical decision support. She has also taught simulation and pediatric clinicals at various universities. Kim is the Nursing Accredited Program Director for Harvard Postgraduate medical education and serves on the ASHP Pediatric Standardize4Safety Continuous Infusion Expert Panel and as an Affiliated Member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Council of Clinical Information Technology. Kim maintains board certification for Critical Care Registered Nurse and Trauma Nurse Certification. She is also a part of the Regional Biothreats Team at MGH. Throughout her career, Kim is known for her commitment to excellent nursing practice and providing family centered care to pediatric patients and their families. In this vein, she has served on the MGH for Children’s Family Advisory Committee for the past 6 years. Kim promotes and is an advocate for nursing innovation and holds a provisional device patent. Her career has combined pediatric critical care, teaching, innovation and informatics to provide evidence-based practice to the vulnerable population of pediatrics.

Core Resident TinyTalkers

Lindsey Ades, MD

Dr. Ades is a Pediatrics resident at MGfC. She is originally from Needham, MA, and then spent some time in the Midwest, attending undergraduate training at the University of Michigan and medical school at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine. While in medical school, she became involved with medical simulation and developed a passion for medical education. She is excited to have returned back to Boston for residency, and she loves being a part of the MGfC family and a member of the TinyTalks team! Outside of the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exercising, golfing, and traveling.

Sidney Rehn, MD

Dr. Rehn is a Pediatric resident at MGfC. She is half-Swedish half-American and completed a combined undergraduate-graduate medical program at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. After graduation she worked as a junior doctor in Internal Medicine and in the Emergency Department in Stockholm for just shy of two years before beginning her pediatric residency in Boston. While in medical school, she led OSCE training sessions, she is professional development mentor for five medical students at Karolinska, and at MGfC she teaches on the procedure team. Her passion for medical education only continues to grow and she is excited to further this role as a part of the TinyTalks team and MGfC community! On her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends (including her newborn baby boy, James), running, traveling, reading, and cooking. 

Lulu Xu, MD

Dr. Xu is a Pediatrics resident at MGfC. She grew up in Massachusetts and went to Boston University as an undergraduate. She only went slightly farther out west to attend medical school at UMass where she also completed a master's degree in Clinical Investigation. Outside of work, Lulu is a competitive quadball player and is on the US National Team. She also coaches the Harvard Horntails who were the 2023 D1 national championship runner-ups!

TinyTalks Intern

Marina Ferreira

Marina is a health science major on the pre-med track completing her undergraduate studies at Northeastern University. She joined the TinyTalks team as a sound and media editor. She is interested in medicine and public health, especially when related to pediatrics. She is involved on campus through multiple clubs such as the American Medical Women’s Association, Husky Ambassadors, HER Campus and more! Marina loves to read, dance, and explore Boston.

Perry Dinardo, MD

Dr. Dinardo graduated from the MGfC Pediatrics Residency in 2024. Originally from Winchester, MA, she attended Duke University as an undergraduate, then completed medical school at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. While at CCLCM, she also completed a master's degree in Bioethics & Medical Humanities at Case Western Reserve University. Outside of work, Perry loves to read, bake, travel, do aerial arts, and spend time with her husband and dog.

Maya Feldman, MD

Dr. Feldman graduated from the MGfC Pediatrics Residency in 2024. She is originally from Newton, MA, and lived in NYC for 8 years while attending Barnard College followed by Weill Cornell Medical College. She moved closer to home for residency and is thrilled to be a part of the MGHfC family and especially the TinyTalks team! Outside of the hospital she enjoys dancing, seeing live theater, reading, and traveling. 

Anna Klouda, MD

Dr. Klouda graduated from the MGfC Pediatrics Residency in 2023 and completed her chief resident year at MGfC in 2024. She is a proud graduate of University of Massachusetts Medical School. She has a strong interest in medical education and is thrilled to be involved with Tiny Talks and making the wisdom and knowledge of the wonderful MGfC faculty more accessible to trainees. Outside of work she enjoys reading, running and is on an endless search for the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. 

Olivia Larkin, MD

Dr. Larkin graduated from the MGfC Pediatrics Residency in 2024. Originally from Newton, MA, she attended the University of Michigan for undergrad before completing medical school at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. Liv has loved being a part of the tight-knit community that is MGfC and is excited to join the Tiny Talks team. She enjoys being outside, cooking, dancing, and exploring new places with her husband and very sassy dog.

Alice Lu, MD

Dr. Lu graduated from the MGfC Pediatrics Residency in 2023, and starting working as a primary care pediatrician after residency graduation. She grew up in the Boston area (Brookline and Cambridge to be specific) and attended MIT for college where she majored in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and minored in Literature. After graduating, she continued to stay in the state and completed medical school at University of Massachusetts Medical School. In her free time, Alice loves to read (fiction), run, take photographs, and explore the world!
