Graduate Medical Education

Interns, residents and fellows training at Brigham and Women's Hospital and it’s affiliates participate in variety of training courses as they progress through their training. Course focus on both the technical and non-technical skills necessary for the chosen discipline. Many sessions focus on high-acuity, low frequency events that prepare trainees for events in the clinical setting.

HAEMR Airway Assessment

This is a three-station observed structured performance evaluation (OSPE) on difficult airways.


This course is designed to provide emergency medicine residents with practical learning and discussion opportunities around managing acute abdominal emergencies that they might encounter in the emergency department.

HAEMR Neurological Emergencies Course

During this course, Emergency Medicine Residents will review and practice management of neurological emergencies.


During this course, Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residents will learn how to manage OB/GYN conditions that can present in the Emergency Department and will be trained on SANE procedures.

HAEMR Teaching Senior Course

During this course, medical and PA students will participate in clinical scenarios and/or skills stations designed and run by Senior HAEMR residents.
