Graduate Medical Education

Interns, residents and fellows training at Brigham and Women's Hospital and it’s affiliates participate in variety of training courses as they progress through their training. Course focus on both the technical and non-technical skills necessary for the chosen discipline. Many sessions focus on high-acuity, low frequency events that prepare trainees for events in the clinical setting.

HAEMR Airway Assessment

This is a three-station observed structured performance evaluation (OSPE). The three cases are designed to assess the resident’s performance in three difficult airway scenarios.

HAEMR GI

This course is designed to provide emergency medicine residents with practical learning and discussion opportunities around managing acute abdominal emergencies that they might encounter in the emergency department.

HAEMR Neurology Course

During this course, Emergency Medicine Residents will review and practice management of neurological emergencies.

HAEMR OB/GYN & Genitourinary Course

This course will instruct Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residents in the management of OB/GYN and Renal/Urological conditions that present in the Emergency Department.

HAEMR Psychiatric Emergencies

This course is designed to provide emergency medicine residents with practical learning and discussion opportunities around psychiatric emergencies that they might encounter in the emergency department.

HAEMR Teaching Senior

Senior Emergency Medicine Residents design and run a clinical scenario with medical and PA students.
