This course is designed for dental residents to develop competence in the understanding of the indications for and the implementation of essential skills needed for an anesthesia rotation and the management of medical emergencies, e.g. starting IV’s, LMA use, ETT use, and AED use, and to develop competence in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of the most common medical emergencies in the dental office with the use of basic monitoring and emergency equipment found in dental offices.
